“Things JUST happen in life. What we do after is really what happens TO us” - Scott Muir
SouthOC Local Foundations
We feel incredibly fortunate to call Southern California home and are proud to support the Ben Carlson Foundation and Love for Los—two organizations that embody something we’ve come to believe deeply: when life changes unexpectedly, the connection and support of your local community can change everything.
Whether you volunteer your time or make a direct donation, every act of kindness creates impact for people like Scott.
Ben Carlson was a waterman and 15-year lifeguard who died while making his final rescue on July 6, 2014 in Newport Beach. This foundation provides scholarships and supports water safety initiatives.
Love for Los started to help Dana Point local Charlos "Los" Bentley after he was hit by a drunk driver in 2025. It has grown into the Love for Los Foundation to help SouthOC families who are facing sudden, life-changing tragedies.
National Foundations
Craig Hospital, High Fives Foundation, One More Wave, and Waves 4 All have each played a meaningful role in Scott’s recovery and in helping him find his way back to a life filled with movement, adventure, and possibility. We are forever indebted to these incredible national foundations:
