Scott Muir: Navigating Life When There Is No Playbook

Scott Muir speaks at the Gunter Group Corporate Retreat in October of 2026. He tells his story about how a smile and initial approach to a situation can have lasting impacts. He speaks to how his spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down, shaped a new outlook on life. Approaching every day with a curious and grateful attitude as well as unrelenting effort could shape a new future. He speaks how every little failure along the way was a way to learn and build momentum to grow. He never let himself believe he couldn’t do something in a state of defeat. By adding the word ‘yet’ to the end of a sentence, it created an implicit promise for the future. I can’t walk… yet. I can’t tie my shoes… yet.
